How Helpful is Green Tea?

Over the last years, we in the Western world have rediscovered a lot of “lost knowledge”, from other parts of the World. There are many plants and herbs that aid us in different areas of our health and one of them is green tea, known in China for thousands of years.
Integrating green tea into your life can be done in many ways. I started drinking green tea as iced tea without sugar, but then winter came and I started to drink it hot with sugar. On some days if I am not going to drink green tea I take it in the form of pills.
One of the main benefits of green tea has been aiding people to lose fat. Some studies have been performed in the last years showing that men and women who drank green tea lost more weight than men and women who had no green tea or took a placebo drink.
However, a more important finding is the one related to cancer. Green tea contain powerful antioxidants called catechins that have been shown incredibly helpful to fight cancer cells, and they eliminate these cells without making any damage to healthy tissue.
Green tea has also been used in the formulation of different natural skin care products. Green tea is helpful to improve the complexion of the skin and stop the damages made by the sun exposure and aging. It also helps prevent skin cancer and free radicals.
Why isn’t green tea widely used then? This is a question that many people like me, who have been witness of the goods of green tea don’t understand. I think it has to do mainly on how “modern science” looks down a lot of treatments based on herbs or considered alternative.
Green tea is available through many ways. I get it on my nearest store, and when I can’t find it nearby, I get it via online stores and even big online hubs such as Amazon where you can find different vendors.
